This thread reminds me of our government. Started great and has gone down hill since.

PS. Going to Sears before end of year.

Do you actually understand the "free choice act"?

It ain't free choice at all...........it is open voting, by employees, for unions to come in. By this I mean..........union representatives looking over your shoulder, while you are casting your vote.

And as to the "official looking e-mails".............most things can be confirmed or rebutted at Snopes.com .

EDIT: I might also add, that the "Free Choice Act" that you have been hearing so much about from the US congress and our president..........is exactly the same as I have described above.
Now you tell us.........which is free choice, voting in private.........or voting with a union rep watching over your shoulder?

Sears lost my business when they refused to replace a drill that was making a lot of noise. They wanted a receipt which I did not have. So much for the lifetime tool warranty they brag about. And yes, they jack their prices up and have sales every week. Go to WM and get the same thing for alot less.

Actually they have a lifetime hand tool warranty on Craftsman only. They never have had a lifetime warranty on power tools.

Your right, the warranty is for hand tools, however I will never walk in a Sears store again. My drill was under six months old and the person I talked with had an attitude. To many other good stores in town.

This isn't intended as knock on Sears.

At one time (many years ago), Sears offered a lifetime warranty on a water hose. One of my former colleagues bought one and saved the warranty and his receipt. I don't remember how many water hoses he went through, but it was a fair number. Eventually, he was told that his warranty was no longer valid. He got more than his money's worth on his initial purchase.:)

Back on the subject of stores & miltary, Home Depot gives a 10% discount for veterans (and probably for active duty personnel). You have to ask for it and prove your status with a V.A. card or DD-214.

Yep, individual employees can hurt or help a store. I bought a relatively cheap table saw with stand from my nearest Sears; some assembly required, as they say. About the second or third time I used it, the switch went bad; still in warranty, of course. I called the service center and they said they did not have that switch in stock, could only repair it if I brought the saw to them, would not order the switch for me, even if I was willing to pay for it unless I brought the saw for them to see first. So I called the retail store manager and he had the employees there do all the assembly of a new saw and I simply went in and exchanged for a complete new saw.

Another time, I went into the store to buy a specific model half-inch drill. Their computer showed they had 3 in stock, but they could not find one, even after the salesman's second trip into the back. So he called the next closest store and that store did not have one. About that time, a manager walked up and asked what the problem was. When he was told, he asked if I'd be willing to accept a higher priced hammer drill at the price of the cheaper drill. Naturally, I accepted.

So individual employees of this store have made me a regular there.

Wow any thread that has the words "chongwongshebarudingdong chinese tractor" in it is a roller coaster ride. I can barely hang on.

Kudos to Sears for looking after the folks in the service. I'm glad to know that they do that.

I have no futher comments on the NRA, WLMT, unions or tater tots!
