Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Looked to me like the wheels wouldn't last long on the streets and highways.

Maybe like mine, only there to support the blade when it is off?

I assume the bag on the blade and the bows are for "parade" ready showing. :D

Yep, parade was today. That "bag" was a banner (named digitally removed of course ;))

Oh, the truck is new. We also got a new street sweeper. :dance1:

The wheels are instead of the skid shoes(think that's what they are called). In the city here they use them an all the city plow trucks I've seen. I would think they wouldn't last long either because the roads are pretty rough around here but that is what they use.

Our roads are very smooth. :p

Okay, I finally got the winter cab put on today and got a couple of pictures taken.
I still need to put a couple lights on the cab, as the fender mounted lights can't see past the FEL. The Chains will have to wait until later, as the set I ordered were too long. :mur: My dad figured we can resize them, rather than sending them back in hopes of finding something that fits.

Oh well, the R3s actually pushed much better than I was led to believe they would, so I haven't had any problems so far.

Need I say more? This is what I have used the most around here.. Doesn't take batteries or diesel to operate it.

I guess it's time to say "I'm ready for snow !"

I finally finished adding to my rear blade, first the angle cylinder and rear remote, and today the skid shoes. They're painted and drying, these were taken before paint.

Now.. where's the snow?

Sean

Nice equipment modifications Chilly. Do you intend on using that rear blade in the dirt or just for snow ?

Well, I'm of two minds about that. The blade really isn't heavy enough for serious grading use, and as some of the other guys have posted on the original thread, the blade has a lot of leverage over the cylinder.

I think for heavy use I'll need to reinstall the original pin and forgo the hydraulics, but for winter use in snow it should be fine. I toyed with the idea of adding a common relief valve dumping back to the sump, but I'd have to add a third hose and some tees and adapters.

It gets used mainly for leveling gravel on my driveway and snow clearing. The shoes are easily removable for dirt use.
