I bought one earlier this summer to use with my SCUT. I don't have rear remotes and the cost of adding them is quite high, so this adjustable link seemed interesting. My priority of jobs changed and I did not get a chance to use it much. I did spend about 45 minutes grading out a rough, undulating area with my box blade.

My first impression is that it is a well made, solid unit. It is quite heavy, solid construction. Welds are good.

When I hooked it up and lifted box blade for the first time I was surprised the cylinder extended about 1.5 inch. The rearof the blade does not get lifted up quite as high as with a regular top link. I was really skeptical as soon as I put in on.

I need to say I am very much a novice with the box blade. I only have perhaps 10 hours total performing excavation with the BB and a fixed link.

In using the hydraulink for about 45 minutes I found it was easier for me to smooth out a rough area. When the front of the tractor would drop into a low spot, the extension of the link would help keep the box from pitching up and dumping the contents. I do feel it was easier and quicker to smooth out a rough area with the link.

Next year I will get more time with the hydraulink and I reserve final judgement till then. My first impression is positive however.

I'm not talking about this product but in general I'm pretty sure that there is a unspoken rule here that if you don't like/had a bad experience with something you bought your not supposed to say anything because it might damage the company's image.

Is there an unspoken rule about not saying something complicates a simple adjustable screw link? I have my doubts if a real hydraulic top-link is that much of an advantage. You guys are just plain lazy. :p

So why do you have a grapple? Why not just get of the tractor and pick stuff up?

If you had a need for one, you wouldn't have any doubts.
I use mine often, and do things with it that my mechanical link wouldn't do for me.

And...yes, I'm lazy. :D :D

Jake98, I don't know if your being sarcastic or not.  If you use your box blade much at all you ought to get one and you will see just how much you would use it. Without a hydraulic top link, I would say that a person makes less than 1 in 50 adjustments that you would make if you have a hydraulic top link. ;)

I was kinda halfway just tryin to get a rise outta you guys. I'm still pretty new to 3 point attachments. I would think a side-link would be first on the list tho, no?

Not usually. But it really depends on how you use your machine. Most of those with HTL's do NOT have HSL's.

My friend, you have got to be THE first person to agree with me on that one. When I bought my 3215, there is only one OEM rear remote available.:( I got it and my hydraulic side link was the first of my "TnT", not the top link as most everyone else gets. Now that may be because of the type of box blade that I have. (rollover) If I had a std type of box blade, I might have gone for the top link first though.:confused2: A top link sure has an effect on how and what type of grading that you are doing with a std type of BB.;)

See, I know what I'm talking about even when I don't know what I'm talking about. Side link would be more important, from what I've experienced. To be able to change the grade from what the tires are on seems like half the job. Top-link just adjusts the 'bite' agressiveness (boxblade), that seems to only need two adjustments, one to start and another to finish, but the angle is in need of changing often.
