This means you really don't need it. You want it because it is a great deal but common sence is winning out.
Bill

Close, but not quite. Close because I can obviously get by without it. Not quite because since I sold my last dump truck there has been at least a couple dozen times where I could have used a dump truck but didn't have one. That is why I'm looking at an older dump. If I really needed a dump a lot, I'd buy a diesel powered tandem that does have a pulling front axle and is only a couple years old or so. It's more of a conveniece. I don't need it a lot, but I do need it and I am the type who does not borrow things.

Heck, I'd want it as a daily driver. :) I can't stand these computerized vehicles. :( Common sense isn't so common any more.

Nope, its "Special Sense"....

Okay, we came together on terms and I bought it. Yeah, like I said, I move really fast on things. ;)

It was starting to sleet and rain so I just pulled it into my smaller barn and used my phone to take a few pics before I touched anything on it. I need to get my heat gun out and take his name and lettering off and the other small items I mentioned earlier I need to fix. All in all, it drives great, shifts great and I feel it's in exceptional shape for a 1975 dump truck. Here are a few poor quality pics, but you can decide for yourself if it looks okay for a 1975 dump. For what I need, I think it will serve me quite well.

It's amazing how much work used to be done with so little horsepower. My '59 White has a 220 Cummins and my '57 White has a 145 hp flathead gas engine.

Sweet looking rigs there Jesse!

The truck looks great, hope it serves you well.

The interior looks much like a 73 C30 I have. The steering wheel looks exactly the same, which leads me to a question.

My steering wheel is starting to get "tacky" or sticky to the touch over the past two years, almost like is it oozing some substance. Anyone have an idea what could be causing this and how to correct. The truck has always been kept inside. I tried cleaning with one of the orange cleaners but it didn't help.

I need to get my heat gun out and take his name and lettering off ...

One of the very best ways to remove decals and adhesive without harming the paint is with a rubber eraser wheel. Any autobody supply shop should have them. For an example check out this site. They call their product a "Wonder Wheel" but it's the same thing, eh?

That truck still has the shiney on it and I think you'll be very glad you bought it in a few more years. Definitely qualifies as a score in my books!

Me thinks you did real good!

I had a similar problem on a Chrysler and bought a cheap steering wheel cover at an auto parts place. Probably took 15 min. to install as the inside had to be laced up.
