Snow 7ft blade on BX 2360

SO-- it appears people are still underestimating the BX. :thumbsup:

As promised - here are a couple of pics. There wasn't as much as predicted (about 3 inches instead of the 10 called for) but the wind was ridiculous and there was a lot of drifting. I did manage to stop the tractor with this snow, but it was still easier than using the 4ft loader. This is officially my setup of choice now as it seems that the back blade would make piles the loader could clean up if needed in even the biggest snow I should get.

These pics are of the front of the house where the drive is blacktop, but I was also very pleased with the back blade's performance on gravel in the back. I just ran the blade backwards and it cleared the snow without taking the driveway with it. The only thing I would like to improve this setup would be a soft cab. Maybe next year.

Very nice, looks like it could do the path in one swipe. How was it for moving snow off to the side? A cab can really make the difference, I installed a new heater in mine (hooks up to my radiator line) and made it virtually air tight and I can now push snow in my boxers on -30 days if I wanted to and still put out a sweat, lol.

I just added a 7.5 foot front plow to my BX. I completely agree that BX is underestimated. That tractor amazes me everyday. We just had a good dump today in SE Michigan and it cleaned the 300 foot drive in no time.

:thumbsup: oh yeah!! Go BX's!!!! That storm is on the way here to us. It almost here and I am still waiting for it to impact us.

Well, the snow last night was too much for the BX to pull the 7' blade. It still did a nice job of clean-up, but this snow makes me wonder if I shouldn't get a blower. It took me about 5 hours to plow my driveway, and the road back to the barn. Had to use the loader for most of it - scooping it up and dumping it to the side really takes time. We got about 15"-18" with drifts as high as 4'. A blower would have taken an hour I would guess.

Sorry about that, but there's just something about experience. Dragging a 84" blade with a BX in 4" of snow is one thing. Having any rear blade do much when you have a foot of snow? Nope!

If you like that blade you could cut 'er down to 65" or so. I used a 5' on my BX and still have it for my B2320. When you get it loaded, there's only so much pulling of heavy snow it's going to do.

I pushed 12-15 inches this morning with the FEL. Then, the 5' blade is excellent for clean up. Not bad.

I agree, have someone cut it down to 5 ft. Zip, zip with a plasma cutter. Once you get over 4 to 5 inches of snow it's a different ballgame, you'll just lose traction trying to pull that much snow. The tractor's got the power but not the weight. Chains would help some too.
