I know this is not a gun site but you guys know soooo much, it helps me on hundreds of subjects.
I have a REDFIELD WIDEVIEW circa 1980 mounted on a Remington 700, .270 It is a 3X9 approx 30MM (oval) It's been a good scope, it DID fog up once years ago but they re-sealed it under warrenty.
I'm getting older now and my vision isn't as sharp as it used to be. I'm seeing ads for 40MM and 50MM scopes. Some have addit. small horizontal lines for longer ranges. I know the old adage about getting what you pay for but I'm looking at a "Pentax" from Sportsmans guide selling for $79. Will this be junk? Suggestions? Thanks.
