I'm not a fan of Seafoam. It is Pale Oil, Naptha and ALCOHOL!

Is that because you have not used it. :D

With 20 engines we buy it by the gallon.

Never said it didn't work. As I already said I'm not a fan of paying $8 for a can with 10cents worth of ingredients in it.

Since there seems to me some experts on gas and ethanol on here, I figure I'll ask the question here.

First of all, I am not a fan of e10. And I live in one of those god forbidden states that do NOT require it to be labeled on the pump. So we have no Idea wether it is ethanol free or E10.

Based on my experience, I really cant tell a difference between 100%gas and e10 in my ~15MPG truck. But I can tell a hugh differece in by ~40MPG saturn. When I use gas I KNOW to be ethanol free, I get 41-42MPG. When I fill up at a place that uses e10, it knocks me down to 36-37MPG:mad:

An I have heard a ton of horror stories about e10 in small engines like chainsaws and weedeaters. Especially the older ones which I have a lot of. We always try to find ethanol free PREMIUM gas for all our 2-stroke stuff.

So that brings me to the question, I called the local marathon and asked them if they run ethanol free gas and she said yes that ALL marathon gas is ethanol free. I conldn't really find anything online to confirm this so do any of you guys know for sure???

I don't think that's half as crazy as around here where they're lobbying to remove the hydroelectric dams off the rivers and put in coal and NG plants for power???:confused2:

I just don't understand the idea of getting rid of a power plant which produces 0 emmissions and replacing it with one which has high emmissions. Not to mention all the flood prevention and irrigation benifits we get from them.

Cause the think it wasent desinged to be put there. The figure the lord never intended for us to use our brains to harness his creations. As i have said to others in other posts. I am a federal employee. I am a forester, my office is on a hydro lake we have a seperate generator that makes power for the dam office and visitors center. When we have to go down and hook to the grid for maintence it costs us to the tune of several thousand dollars a month (read tax dollars here) till we switch back over, and no this does not include the power bill to operate the dam in this time frame.

Worse yet try some E85 if you have a flexfuel vehicle. My work truck dodge dakota quad cab v8 will get basically 15 mpg on 100% gas and E10 ( i feel there is a 1 mpg difference in these 2 but i dont keep a close enough watch on it) when i put in E85 that goes down to the 10-11mpg range. I have only filled up with e85 twice cause its hard to find in my rural local , but on my way to a certain job i pass one station that is in my range. The government mandates the use of e85 if availible so i did my duty and ran it low to test and filled up. The last time i did this i passed a station selling e10 gas for the same price as the e85. Hows that for your tax dollars at work, pay the same price for something and get less out of it? But the money stays here in the US blah blah and doesent get into the hands of muslem terrorists, i get that part, but dont agree.

Both me and my Co-Pilot did test with E-85 crap. He has a 5.3L Yukon XL 4x4 and I had a 07 F-150 5.4L 4x4 at the time. We both saw a 30% decrease in mpg. My truck went from 15.5mpg to 11mpg. His was very similar. This was done over several thousand miles of testing.

Bottom line is the station owners are the only one happy about it. It means you will stop at the station every 225 miles instead of every 350 miles or so. They are betting when you are on the property you will run in and get a soda, case of beer, pack of cigs, lottery ticket, ect.

Not surprising. Ethanol has a tested BTU content lower than gasoline so it only follows that you get less mpg out of it. Some automakers have a class action suit they just filed against the EPA because some area's have been putting E15 in pumps without labeling and it's causing problems with older cars. Probably because it is killing flora and fauna and the natural habitat. They would like to remove the lock and dams on the Mississippi too. These people really need to be defeated.

I read a very similar article in one of my marine publications... Ethanol plays heck on marine engines and is a nightmare in the marine environment.

Absolutly no flood control on the largest river in the eastern US, that drains like 1/3 of the country, that sounds like a good idea.
