On the 3520 which hole of the three do I put the 3 pt arm in to get the highest lift? I had my Frontier HD 72" pushing some snow and altho it lifted high enough to operate I would like to see it higher if possible. I was running the arm in the middle hole. I know the info is in my manual but I can't put my hands on it at the moment.

for a higher lift, use the hole furthest away from the tractor on the draft arm.

+1 on the bottom hole. this will lift the highest, it may tilt tilt the implement, back more than you want, and you can adjust with the jackscrew on the top link.

Edit.. are you asking which hole on the tractor? top middle or bottom? or which on the lower link arm? some have 2 or more holes.

Agree. Bottom hole on the toplink-tractor side will give the most lift. But it will cause the blade to rotate more.

Another tip, try to keep the a-frame part of the blade level when it is on the ground. Cause if it isn't level, when you angle the blade, one side will be higher than the other and you will have to re-adjust it. If you keep the a-frame level with the blade resting on the ground, you can pivot any which way and the blade will still remain level.

LD1 - can you explain your tip a little more - I think this is what happened to me with my blade but I am not sure - I put my new blade to good use and used top link to angle what i think is the A frame up to make the blade "scrape better" but what it appears I did was also scrape the heck out of my paved driveway :mad:- especially on what appears to be where one edge of my blade was hitting the pavement when I had the blade angled. I have been thinking about this all day (my wife has not seen this yet :eek:and unless I figure this out I will be facing another year with a shovel) and I think you are hitting on what happened - the blade would in effect "dig in" at one end when angled because I did not keep the A frame level but tilted up quite a bit. Does that make sense?

Thank You Dana

There's no real good way to explain it. But it is reall not call an A-frame I dont think. Basically the beice of pipe or tube that the blade spins on needs to be perfectly perpendicular. This usually makes the "framework" of the blade that goes to the lower pins level to the ground.

Keeping it level is not always possible for dirt work. Sometime you need more bite and use the toplink to adjust the attack angle. But even if your blade isnt level, when you angle it, just re-adjust it with the adjustable 3ph link on the left side until it is level. That way you dont gouge the drive anymore.

For the least aggressive angle (and least digging in and damaging the blacktop), use the top hole on the tractor end and shorten the top link as much as you can and the blade still stay on the ground.

Or for snow, if it is not heavy and packed, I prefer to just turn the blade around. But if the snow is heavy and packed, it doesnt work quite so well.

Yes, the three holes on the tractor. Thanks for the reply, I'll try it next time I hook up the blade.
