I hope it's ok to ask this here: I have a little question about something that's popping up a lot in this thread... The phrase "Union worker"...
From the way it's being used, I'm getting the impression that in the US being "in a union" is often used to justify and get-away-with being an idiot.... Is that the case?
While there are lots of clear and obvious differences between US and other continents, it's the little things like this that I find the most interesting![]()
"Union Worker" and "Government Worker" are often used interchangeably and most often in a pejorative manner to describe someone who may or may not be one or the other.
I have been both, so I guess I am an idiot twice over.
