The seat in the L 5740 is to hard for my back, (surgrey- rods) My dealer found a Grammer air ride seat and a for/aft (Isolator) to fit my new work horse. I removed OEM seat and seat pan. I also got a seat pan from a M9540 tractor to add to make mine level.

After drilling a few holes I attached M seat pan and grammer seat and Isolator to OEM seat pan and put it in the tractor. Nice fit, this seat is a inch or 2 lower which helps the steering wheel placement to my knees and hands better.
I hooked up 12 volt to seat compressor and operator presents wires aswell. Added adjustable arm rests and adjustable head rest. Found out I could even get seat and back heater for it to.
This seat is wonderful.
I just dont under stand why Kubota does not offer a better quaility and air ride seat as an option, John Deere does.
This seat fits my back and bottom side so much better, the difference is night to day for me. Now I can stay in the saddle all day with out high pain levels. Thank You Grammer for making a good compact tractor seat.
I wish the Kubota Gods could see this and do some thing before I buy the next tractor.

I couldn't tell from the last photo, but do you have a way to support the front?

And don't forget to seal off the rest of the open area underneath, or cold air will enter the cab at that point.

Is it possible to leave the old pan on, and bolt the new one on top? That would be the best solution.

I did reuse the old seat pan and attached the new one on top of it. There are 6 OEM bolts that hold the pans in place so the seat is very soild.

I ordered my M85 w/ air ride seat as a factory option.
I don't understand why you couldn't get one.

I don't remember seeing it as an option for the GLs (why not I'm not sure) but I also wasn't looking at cab models.
