Price Check Can you put a Back Hoe on a BX1850?

The BX1800 and BX2200's hydraulic pump output is 5.5 gpm. Some of that is used for the power steering.

Not saying that a BH won't work - just that it is not designed for it.

What is the output on the BX25? It's not just the output, it's the pressure behind it as well. Do you happen to know the pressure on the any of these? I just checked in here and don't have time to search the Kubota site for the stats. I think comparing hard numbers will help us decide this better.

Just open this .pdf

Again, all current BXs have the same 6.3 hyd pump rating. I suspect the 50 series was the same.

The hydraulic pump on a BX not designed for BH work is quite small so things will get done - just not very quickly if that is an issue.

I want to start here by saying how much I have always respected gwdixon's advice and the courtesy he portrays in his posts. G. W.'s thoughts have been very helpful to me on several occasions. I hope G. W. will not take this post as being disrespectful to him, as I surely do not intend any ill will.

Looking at the page linked below, Kubota indicates that B. P. is correct, all BX models, regardless of 2 digit or 4 digit number have the same hydraulic pump. With the addition of the subframe, a 4 digit BX with a Woods BH6000 is just as capable as a 2 digit BX. Lee Brown has a number of times pointed out that the ROPS is smaller, but every TBN member who owns a 4 digit BX with the bh, and has posted about it (including me), has stated that there have been no real issues with this.

WELL, now i'm mad and ready to kick some ***. (Kidding of course - the compliments are appreciated.)

My information about the pump was drawn from the Kubota documents below re: BX1850/BX2250 and BX1800/BX2200. Since mine is a BX2200 I was looking at it from that angle rather than correctly from the OP's BX1850 viewpoint.

Being spoiled by a L48 may also be a factor.

If the BH wouldn't work then it wouldn't be made or be able to be sold. "Build it and they will come" seems to be the applicable saying.

Anyway, now that I've been abused, flamed, and generally disrespected I'll butt out. With all the information exchanged on TBN some of it is bound to be in error. Opinion is another issue however.
