Mowing How big of a disk mower?

I have a Branson 4720 (47hp/42pto), will it handle a 9 foot disk mower ok?

I would think not. Most manufactors of disc mowers have the spec's on the websites to match PTO HP to the mower.

I am shopping for another disc mower and my Branson is 55 hp ... I think 48 at the PTO.

I found one Mfg ... Haymag that said yes on the 9' cutter but recomended I not do that.

No 9 ft, I would suggest a 7 ft (5 rotor) on hilly fields and maybe a 8 ft (6 rotors) on flat fields. Our New Fort 7 ft sell for $5795 and the 8 ft $6295. We have sold almost 1000 of these units in the last 15 yrs or so. Ken Sweet

The Fort Model 2050 states 45 hp in the spec's ... and the 2060 states 55hp. I assume thats tractor hp not pto?

For that small of a tractor I would stay with a 7' mower or go to a sickle bar mower inwhich u could use a 9' just depends on how much u are wanting to cut.

Blueriver have u looked at the vicon 3 blade mowers. I have alot of customers who are verry please whith this product. Also if u put the mower on a caddy u can get away using it on a smaller tractor. It make hook up alot easier also. I have one on all 3 of my mowers

A 45 hp tractor can turn a 9 ft, however, the Mfgr. specs are looking more at the weight and "Stance" of the tractor for safety's sake. We have in stock the new Enorossi 7 ft double action sickle mowers with hydraulic lift kit for $3695. My Shop Foreman has a disc mower and one of these double action mowers and the double action will make a round every time the disc mower does. Damp hay don't matter. Ken Sweet

I have considered them ... just have yet to get a $ quote. I am not much on the Caddy only because a couple of my fields I load and haul the tractor and cutter.

If your asking because you sell them fire a quote over by PM ... I want to match the PTO HP to the cutter. The tractor is 55 Hp with I believe 48 at the PTO.
