Good looking pictures of some good looking equipment. how did the tractor do baling hay? Was there any extra power when the bale was full going up hill. ?

The first time I used the baler was early in June. I cut one day and baled and bagged the next day. No problems - and those are some heavy bales.

The next cutting was a month later. I let the hay dry, tedded, raked, etc and I had a lot of trouble with the baler.

There were a few times where the tractor started to bog down going up a hill with an almost full bale.

The hay was getting wedged under one of the scraper bars and making it hard to turn the PTO.

I had to kick out a few bales without tying (messy). Even with no bale in the chamber the tractor would not turn the belts. I had to get in there (literally) with a razor knife and cut these giant wads of hay out from between the scraper and roller. I have since learned that it is easier to just unbolt the scraper blade (after you uncover the bolts). But I digress....

The tractor runs well. The dealer persuaded me to take the 'Industrial' tires rather that the 'Ag' tires. This make not have been the right choice but the jury is still out on that one.

So far, so good. In the spring I have to dig a 5 foot deep trench 500 feet long to bring water and electricity to a pasture. That should be an interesting challenge.

thanks for the info. Normally the small round baler doesnt give trouble rolling dry hay. Sometimes with wet hay there is some problems.

Seasons Greetings to all. Sorry for the delayed response.

I used the tractor this past summer for cutting and baling hay and fencing in a pasture with high tensile Gallagher Fence. This coming spring spring I get to dig a 500 foot long 5 foot deep trench to bring water and electricity to said pasture.

As far as options, I was able to get the front brush guard, rear work light, a nice round bale spear for the front and the 906 medium duty post hole digger to sweeten the deal for no charge. Oh yeah and a full tank of fuel.

I paid for the rear remote (not standard on a 35K tractor?), cutting edge for the bucket and the canopy.

So far so good. Now where can I get some Highland Cattle?

I got a Boomer 8N for Christmas. The tractor was priced $22,000 cash or $24,900 financed for 72 months no interest (which is $2490 in interest). I have a 6' Bush Hog Squealer cutter behind it. So far it works great.:thumbsup:

i to had priced the boomer 8n a year ago.an the price with a loader was $36,000 w/fel.but that among other things scared me off of NHs.plus it was $12,000 more than the tractor i just bought.what size rd baler are you pulling with it 4 by 5 or 4 by 6.

The annual interest rate on the financing deal turns out to be 4.16% (rounded), assuming equal monthly payments beginning a month after purchase.
