The o-ring is suppose to go under the seal collar. I do not see a seal collar in your pictures. Do you have one? Looks like you about got it whipped!

I didnt see a seal collar either.

Anyone know what grease weight I need for the front end? I have the Operation Manual which states how much (8.5 qts) but it doesn't say what type or weight.

Ah, just found it. It was in the service section of the manual, 90wt gear lube or equivalent.

straight 90 is getting hard to find. I used 85w90

you can buy it by the 5 gallon pail full if u want but there is nothing wrong with even 75w90 it will flow better cold.

I got it all back together and no leak so far. I think I found the collar but it looks like a steel collar with a brass plating. I have no means to pull the collar off of the spindle as it looks like it's pressed on. Nor do I have a torch to heat it up. And I don't think the wife would appreciate it if I used her oven.

The brass part had some ridges in it where a something scratched it, but it wasn't too deep.

If it is holding now it will probably continue too. You can take emory paper and smooth the ridges out if not to deep.

Just thought I'd give an update. Ran the tractor for a few hours the other day. It was about 73deg here on Saturday and now it's about 20 deg. That's Oklahoma for you.

Anyhow, back to the subject, no leaks. Thanks for the help and comments.
