Has the B3030 got rear wheel spacers for increased slope
stability ?

Not yet :p

Rear wheel spacers and loading all 4 tires to make it nice and steady on the slopes, that will happen in the next couple of weeks :)

This might come under the "who knows" catagory....
I read just enough on this forum to maybe cause myself some trouble:confused: (my fault)
I bought a used Kubota 3010 with 380 hours. Being bright eyed and bushy tailed with my new toy I wanted to change everything so it would feel loved. I went with Mobile One 5W40 and a new filter. Then I decided to CHANGE the TRANNY FILTER; BUT NOT THE FLUID (it looked very clean). I added about 3 gallons of HyGard (it was already low) to the existing Kubota UDT...... Now I read this post about mixing and I'm nervous. Have I screwed up? I ran it about an hour and it seems ok. :ashamed:

BTW, I have a major question....it says to change the FRONT AXLE fluid. OK, but it says to use Kubota UDT OR.....80-90 Wt. GEAR OIL. :confused:WHAT???? They're not even simular??????? Wuz up?

UDT is basically a hydraulic fluid that is also an adequate gear lube, my understanding of it.
Gear oil is purpose made for sliding contact of gears, to my way of thinking a far superior choice for the front axle. Gear oil, synthetic in fact, is what I intend to put in the front axle of my tractor when it hits the 300 hour change.
My tractor doesn't hold much more than 3 gallons in the transmission so I would have just changed it. Was the 3 gallons how much it was low when you took delivery or was it a little bit low and a bunch more ran out when you changed the filter(s). As far as mixing, if both oils meet the tractor manufacturer's spec then it shouldn't matter. Do you know for sure it had Kubota UDT in it to start with?

The front axle isn't touchy, like an HST. Lubrication is all it requires.

I prefer gear lube, but I dislike how thick 80w-90 is, so I run a 75w-90 synthetic gear lube for only pennies more a quart. It flows quicker, yet protects.

Exactly the gear lube I plan to use, much better for wide temperature ranges.

My understanding is that udt is kubotas name for universal tractor fluid, or UTF, and hy guard is deere's name. They are not motor oil. I'm pretty sure they are both made by mobil oil company and mobil calls it mobil fluid 424. I have a 55 gallon drum of that I use in my Deere earth moving equipment which calls for a UTF meeting the standard J20C. Super UTD is a synthetic version and therefore is probably better but is also probably worth it's weight in gold. As for the axle fluid, most UTF's meet a GL-4 specification which is what you're looking for in a gear oil,or an 75, 80, or 90 weight gear oil. We use mobil UTF, or mobil fluid 424, in final drives, hydraulic systems, and axles of most of our John Deere equipment. That's why it's UNIVERSAL!!!! Beings that I stock a drum of it, I use it in BX 2350 with no problems. I bet if you went to mobile site, they would say that mobil fluid 424 meets kubotas specs. Hope this helps

Not sure it makes any difference, but I am pretty sure Kubota has Ashland do their oil. I also don't believe from what I have read that SUDT is synthetic at the present time.
