I had a though about pushing snow and freezing while I was on my T1600. I'm an old retired machinist and farmer with a shop still that I make all kinds of "tinker" stuff in. I'm sitting here thinking about another 6-8 inch snow coming this Tuesday and Weds and shivering. What popped into this old head was something I wanted to throw out here. The Diesel uses the puller type fan to pull air from the knee area of the driver through the radiator. Has anybody tried or thought of reversing the fan to make it a pusher fan to push air from the engine compartment thru the radiator out onto the driver when it's freezing. I know some will say it might overheat, but I say, at 32 degrees, with a non airtight compartment, it's still going to draw cool or for the most part ambient air temp ( freezing cold air ) across the block into the radiator. I might have to get a spare fan and mill it down if it needs clearance. I might even go with two small electric radiator fans one mounted on each side. A push me, pull you, setup with individual switches to run which ever was needed. With the temp gauge working I could see if the pusher wasn't cooling enough and switch off and switch to puller. Yep I know it's a funny idea, but warm legs ain't. I have a old add on heater box I've thought about putting on the tractor, where you add a "y" to the inlet and outlet sides of the radiator. Has a small heater core and a 12v 10amp switched blower. I'm just tired of being cold. Whatchathink? Rick. throw some other ideas at me.
