My Friction Plate/Washer desinagrated so I could only use my pedal. Take my advise on this one. If it does wear out Order the correct Nylon one from a parts supplier :ashamed:

I didn't even know it was supposed to have a nylon washer:laughing: Mine must have fell apart long ago. Now it's just metal on metal. Maybe that's why I had to put a little oil on it. Probably work a lot smoother if I get the washer put back in:thumbsup:

mine seems more like rubber than nylon? i just havent touched it much i guess. Maybe its just that its black? Some on here say to cut a piece of leather to use as a friction washer? I have not done it just read it, but seems like that would sieze up lightly every time it sits for a few months.

We always have plenty of nylon washers in various sizes from the equipment we install at the cell sites. I'm gonna look and see if I can make any of them work. Glad to know there was supposed to be something in there other than metal on metal.

That's odd, because on all my GT's, the only way to shut it down is with the release. There's a seperate cable specifically for the compression release, but there's another specifically to shut down the engine. They both appear to do the same thing.

I would prefer the setup you guys have, as cables snap eventually.

my YM14 has compression release and a stop pull cable which is connected to the pump, dont tell me thats another difference between a GT and a YM??

i thought mine was rubber also? not that i have pulled it out to check but it feels like rubber poking at it. i have tightened mine and sprayed it with silicone spray and it has been great for 18 months now,it did on occasions not want to stop unless you slammed the lever forward until i lubed and adjusted it.

my 1510 has a hand lever and foot throttle. if i set the hand to 'zero' (furthest from me) it ticks over - I then press a small button, under the dash, to release the last 0.5" of travel which kills the engine.

apart from stalling it several times a day that is..........

I'll have to look to see where it goes. Both my YM146 and GT14 manuals refer to it as an "Engine Stopper".. While the compression release is referred to as a "decompression knob"..

Makes sense that the "stopper" would shut down the fuel. Will have to look next time I can get to the shed.

20+ inches of snow on the ground with another 9-12 expected tomorrow night! :confused2:
