2 Wheel Tractors - Buying & Using

Hi Folks,
This my first post, I'm so impressed that so many people are so passionate about two wheel tractors. In the UK there's not many about.

Anyway I needed something small and cheap to tow a trailer in and of my woods. After toying with all the options I ended up the one that seemed like most fun. I made my own two wheel tractor out of an old motor bike. The only only bit I had to buy was a towing hitch.

I thought you might want a look at this:

It's running a lot better now I've added a battery. Running the ignition straight of the alternator/ rectifier didn't work under load. It chugs along with no throttle on the flat now and pulls really well. Does anyone know if I could use a capacitor instead of battery?

I've enlarged the handle bars as well to help with the heavy steering.

Any thoughts gratefully recieved.

I have a 1956 Allis Chalmers (same as Simplicity, I believe) two wheeler. I've got an eight horse B&S mounted on it. It still gets regular use when I need a sickle mower and for small tilling jobs. One implement I've been looking for, so far without luck, is the large circular blade for the front. I also want a riding sulky for it, but just because I think it would be cool.

Keep looking. At the top right you can have it notify you via an RSS feed - or so I've heard. Never done it myself.

Cool, maybe I'll see if I can try that. I was just thinking recently that it would be nice to have something like that.

Two wheel tractors? What is this madness? Huh...dad might not have been too far off the mark when he referred to our big walk behind tiller as "almost a two wheel tractor"...I can kinda understand the appeal, though.

Now, how do you turn these two wheel tractors? I know it's very annoying to muscle our old walk behind tiller around in a turn. Do you brake the individual wheel to make a zero radius like turn?
