I used my dad's 5' King Kutter rotary mower and was very disappointed. I used it primarily for mowing ditches. The grass would wad up, bog down the tractor, and come out of the rear of the mower in huge bunches that I would have to get off of the tractor and kick to break up. It was poorly designed and just made a mess of things. The gearbox also had a constant whine to it. It wasn't worn out, because it was a new mower and I was the first to use it. (proper oil level too) I bought a Deere LX-5, went back to the same ditch the next day, and it did an exceptional job. The rounded discharge does not allow the grass to wad up underneath and the tractor runs smoother. Not trying to cut down the whole line, just passing on my experience with the mower.
