How's everyone doing with the SNOW

/ How's everyone doing with the SNOW #31
I have been plowing with Back Blade an FEL since 93. Now all of a sudden we are getting feet not inches and for last weeks storm had me thinking for the first time no more! Now I find myself scouring the internet for rear mounted snow blowers....until I read Kens statement - it is so true - the minute I pull the trigger it on something like this we will not see this type of snow or storm frequency again!

That's what they told me when I purchased my tractor back in May..........I'm glad I got the blower.

Oh, by the way..........the ex-spurts, are calling for at least 2 more years of heavy snow in the east. Personally, I think it's going to be a lot longer than that.

Not doing very well with the SNOW. I've only had 2 inches and then 1 inch. No need yet to get the Bota out. The 55" last year was loads of fun and I hope I get more this year; it doesn't have to be as much but please enough to use the tools.

My back blade and the loader seem to make the perfect combo for me. It really helps that I paid only 100 bucks for the blade. Even in 8-10 inches, which can easily fall at once with the lake effect we get here. I have about 350 ft of horse shoe shape, then another 40 x 60 parking by my shop, and the 100 ft or so that connects to my other driveway, all sand. I have snow piles (25ft long, 7ft tall) placed strategically, thanks to the loader. I found that if I keep it clean that the sand stays frozen, this allows for easy scraping of the heavy snow with the bb, and easy clean up with the loader. I can do the whole thing with my little BX, 4ft bucket, and a 5ft bb in about an hour and a half or so. It's fun seat time for me for sure. Keep it coming:thumbsup:

I'll be out digging back more banks and widening the drive up for the next storm. I have been keeping a good section of the street wide around the end of my drive. The corners are starting to get pretty treacherous all over the place. I should be far enough ahead today to take care of some of the neighbors mountains at the end of there driveways.

I cut the snowbacks way back above and below my driveway. That way when the town comes down my road the wing plow unloads as soon as he gets to the widened area........ leaving them much less snow on the blade to fill the end of my driveway.

I spent 1 1/2 hours knocking piles and widening yesterday; word is the weather gods are bestowing another gift upon us come Wednesday.

Syracuse, NY is currently at 114.3" for the season so far. Me being 20 miles north of that in the snow belt S.E. of Lake Ontario have seen 20-30" more than that and still have a couple months to go. Lots of tractor, 4 wheeler, and snowmobile seat time.
