How's everyone doing with the SNOW

I thought about it, but then thought it must be boring going so slow. I guess I could watch a movie or something on the DVD:D I'm pretty quick and dainty with the bucket, at least in my own mind.

AHA! I always knew you cab guys put HDTVs in there...

Yeah nothing better then plowing late at night while watching a good movie.
Seriously though it is a DVD player/radio but doubles as the monitor for my backup camera. The DVD player just comes with it.

Got another inch or so here this morning on top of the 8" of heavy wet stuff we got Wednesday night. I had so much fun yesterday that I went back out again today to clean up again.

The driveway is a little over 200' long. My neighbor's (which I also cleared) is about 1/8 mile of gravel. The rear blade has served me well over the years in all kinds of snow. A front blade would be better and a blower would be fantastic, but the old rear blade is cheap and works well.

This is my "snow mountain". By spring I want it 3 times the size. It's currently 12' high 8' deep and 35' long. My b20 with bucket mounted plow is kicking butt in NJ. We had 18" yesterday. Go Buta!

I've got about a foot and a half on the ground and this is the first year where there's no snow banks (thanks to the blower). I drive by other driveways and see piles 5 to 6 feet high and laugh. Is that wrong of me?

Here in WV, first time I've had the bucket on all winter. I've got so used to using it, not worried that much about getting my blade set up for it. Maybe next winter. :confused2:

We got 5" of good wet stuff back on tuesday night. I just had to get my B7100 kubota out to play the next morning. On the first driveway I blew my steering gear. really crappy!! I just went to give the wheel a crank and tink!! It was all over. I managed to limp her home brake steering her. Did I mention that it was really crappy!!

Oh go ahead and get the snow blower, that will ensure that you never again get more than an inch of snow and make everyone else happy:laughing:

You guys on the east coast are really getting plastered. I think our biggest snow here was about 4". We got another inch last night but it was supposed to include freezing rain :( I haven't been out yet.

That's the big problem here, when we get sleet and freezing rain and then it gets cold. It can get scary on a steep driveway with a big drop off. Last year I had the M5040 sliding backwards down the driveway :confused2: In years past I had a plow truck slide down the drive and over the edge. Had to wait a month to get a tow truck in to retrieve it.

Ken

I have been plowing with Back Blade an FEL since 93. Now all of a sudden we are getting feet not inches and for last weeks storm had me thinking for the first time no more! Now I find myself scouring the internet for rear mounted snow blowers....until I read Kens statement - it is so true - the minute I pull the trigger it on something like this we will not see this type of snow or storm frequency again!

Started out January with the front plow on and a rear blade on the 3PH. Well it didn't take long to realize that wasn't going to cut the mustard so on when the FEL. I think we're between 5' and 6' of snow this month and they're already predicting a possible Nor'easter for mid next week. If that comes to fruition, I'll have no room to put it. My piles are at about max for the BX's reach. I can get the loader up higher, but it just falls on the front slope of the pile and rolls back in the road. I'd think about a rear blower, but this looks to be a once in a decade type winter (at least that's what I'm betting).

Chris,

We are at 74" down here by Mystic. Please note that I am only 71" tall.

I have the rear Kubuta Blower and it has been a god send. Sadly, there are times that I think she is going to stall out. That might be because I have been pushing back and blowing out compacted snow banks out in the street.

I am loving this winter. I dont think I have ever seen this much snow.

Last year I picked up a used 3pt blower between the two 30" storms here in NJ and thought that would pretty much guarantee no snow this year. WRONG! 22" from this last storm here near the Delaware river. Got home from Boston last night and cleared the property. DEFINITELY get the blower, front or rear doesn't matter really. Being able to throw the snow 70 feet is a real help. With the FEL and blower, there's not that can't be handled.
