Reusable fittings

All that states is what Parker hose to use with their fittings. Nothing about NOT using another brand.

The Gates fittings I used to make my plow lines weren't mated with Gates hose. Not my fault, that is what I received in my order.

.{[ I don't know what you guys are yapping about?

I have used and reused many of these reusable hose ends over the years, they where more common in the past than today(i guess people where smarter back then)

A 1/2" fitting will fit a 1/2" hose of most brands, same with other size fittings and hoses. As long as it ain't metric.

On a single braid hose one usually can leave the rubber outer layer on,or skin it a wee bit.
On a double braided hose one needs to cut the rubber down to the steel.
No need for a special tool either, any sharp knife will do.
There is most times a mark on the fitting sleeve to tell how far to wittle the rubber back,no harm done if the rubber is cut back to far either,it just looks stupid.

I never had one fail yet.
Can't say the same of crimp fittings.}]

God i love it when people say things like this... i'm certified for 10000 psi hoses and i know a few things about hoses and fittings, and that if i mix things and some thing happens my lawyer will be very busy and my insurance company will be very unhappy... i will take a guess and say that most people don't know that if a reusable blows off you need to replace the fitting and hose assembly???

Some of you guys are gonna get someone hurt or killed. Unless you have been through a manufacturers course on hose and fittings, I am certified by Weatherhead and Caterpillar specializing in high pressure reusables, you should keep your babbling to yourself.

Mine and Weatherhead's suggestion is to not mix brands. People say they do it all the time with no problems. People do a lot of risky stuff and have no problems but someday the cylinder in that pistol will stop with the bullet in between the firing pin and barrel but you won't know it til its too late.

Keep spinning that cylinder and pulling the trigger.

Oh, BTW, I have sent many people over to Ken at DHH. It is not my product, I don't make a nickel off of it.

There is reusable fittings from many different manufacturers where you dont need any "special" hose from the same manufacturer. I guess thats one of the nice thing with standards ;)
If I look at Hydrscands assembly instruction they just mention to use EN 853 1SN or 2SN.

Standards are not for the dimensions of the hose between the ID and the OD. Many places will tell you their stuff works with anything. And ethanol is good for our gasoline too. Keep believing what big corporations and big gov't tell you.
Ever wonder why there aren't any factory engineers on forums like this? Because all this disinformation would put them in a padded room with tons of happy pills.
Kinda why people like me that forgot more about stuff like this than most will ever know post for a while then get tired of getting beat up by the ignorant and leave.

you hit the nail on the head Wayne County ... most of these people have no idea what happens when you are called in by workmans compensation board to testify as to why something happened. I've been their twice and it's hard to look at the widow and tell them that if some one had spent the extra $20 he may still be here.
Why risk an accident that can be avoided by not doing it right the first time, most times the second chance comes with a painful reality..
