Two rainy day views of our barn located in Moss Bluff Louisiana. It may not look like much but it survived a direct hit, with minimal damage, from hurricane Rita (>110 mph sustained winds) in 2005.

My 88 year old mother loves her computer, keeps up with us 4 offspring on email and reads Drudge and Lucianne all the time. But her favorite thing is puzzle software called TIBO. You can make a jigsaw puzzle out of any picture. She has done literally thousands and we are all the time looking for new pictures to convert to puzzles. She loves barns and I'd love to use these if there are no objections.

This thread is a regular barn-anza!

They probably built it a lot more sturdy than was required so it would withstand that kind of weather.

My brother in law was helping me build an addition back in 2003, and he loved to say "better to use too many nails than too few"....

From my Dad's farm in TN. I was told these were built by the original homesteader. Dad wants them torn down this spring so I am going to try to take them home to Missouri one piece at a time.

Some of the barns/buildings from Grandpa's.

1st one was used for wood-working/metal shop, 2nd was used as dry storage (I think?), 3rd was for grain/corn/feed, 4th was used to park equipment. (I'll try to get some more detailed shots when I go to visit Dad this week!)
