I'm looking to buy a wood chipper does not need to be a 3 point hitch tye just want the best chipper for my money I don't want to spend more then $3K. I would apprecate all feed back and product reviews.
i have a Jimna wood chipper. its a 3 point with chute. will work with tractor 20hp or greater. self feeding chipper. i have had it for 4 years and LOVE it. i would highly recommend it if you dont intend to use it for commercial purposes. i have 30 acres, with 20 acres in pine, fir and tamarack trees. i do alot of chipping, and as long as you take care not to force too much crap down its throat it works great. it has worked flawlessly chipping 3-4" stuff but bogs down slightly on the 6" stuff, but my tractor only put out 20 HP at the pto. my new tractor puts out nearly double that, so i think the 6" will chip up fine also. then again, i usually cut and burn the 6" stuff in the fireplace. Mine only cost me $1,400 as i recall. Its Chinese made but built of heavy 1/4" plate where it counts. parts are easy to get. Has reversible 6" cutting knife blades that can be resharpened but it does take a bit to rempve the teeth. Very heavy flywheel. there's web sites with people John Deere praising these little chippers.
John Deere 4052R Cab,, Deere 855D UTV, Z920A Zero Turn Mower and assorted implements
I've got a Woods 5000 Chipper/Shredder. Very nice PTO driven unit (requires 15 PTO HP minumum to 30 maximum) that chips up to 5" and will also shred brush.
All American Made, great quality and you, most likely, won't have to tinker with it to keep it running (other then greasing, sharpening and a rare belt replacement).
Yes check out Wallenstein I have a Wallenstein BX42 Chipper bought last Christmas and it was around $2800, nice big flywheel , simple and sturdy construction that will chip up to 4 inch round and copnsidering anything over 3 inch should be firewood , it is good for me. PTO attached to my Kubota BX2660 which has 25 hp engine and roughly 16 hp at pto

Man, I'd love to have a Valby!! Quality equipment!
I priced a CH160 several years ago...great machine but more then my 670 (and my budget) could handle.
well, now I have the horsepower...and probably the budget...but that old Woods does too nice a job to trade up.
But those Valbys are great chippers!!
