BTDT, but I'd much rather use a Case than a deere. With the Case it's much easier to run the rear boom with your right hand while reaching back with your left to run the front loader and bucket at the same time.
I can lift and push with the rear while lifting and rolling the front all in a smooth movement. Dug most of the drainage ditches on the farm that way. I think that machine is about a foot deeper than I was though. Still the same principle as long as you don't flood the engine.
I'd much rather run a cat 420d than a deere and am not fond at all of the case. The problem here was that there was no bottom and I was stuck next to a large post oak that would not let me lift and move over. the front bucket would sink 2 feet before putting any upward pressure. It took a deere 700lgp to pull it out and both front tires came off the rims.
