4320 Intake Air Heater Working?

Perhaps you didn't hold it in long enough, because it was sooooo freakin cold. Also, make sure you are using diesel anti-gel and octane improvers.

I installed a block heater in my 4720. Was about $130 for the parts and not much in time for me to install. Sure makes the start up easier and its been -25 recently with no problems. This thing seems to be a bit of a cold hearted beast without it. Not to mention it takes the stress off the starter and glow plugs and gives some heat in the cab alot sooner.

Money well spent. The $130 will pay for itself many times over. Also, as anyone can tell you, if it's subzero, and equipment doesn't start,it will be a long day. Been there done that.

Here's the glow plug engine breakdowns. It appears all 4320 had GP's.

Well, after almost 3 weeks the 4320 has started and run flawlessly in this very cold weather we've been having. Doubling up on the Power Service fuel additive seems to have done the trick.
