New JD 1023E and 1026R

Very cool design and may fit the needs of some but...I don't know..this makes the lines even more blurry between high-end Mower and under powered tractor.

I have a SCUT and this looks like a SSCUT. At some point a decent Rider, a Wheelbarrow and a shovel may offer a much cheaper solution.

I bought a new shovel and laid it agqainst the wall this year, didn't use it once. I use my two tractors all the time. Theses new ones fill thew slack in what the big one can't do. The 2xxx series is over what I need now. Thye x7xx series IMHO can't deal with my current implements. I think a 1026r would have enough HP to do what I need done.

I should have stated my point in a different way. The new JDs seem very user friendly and well engineered. What I was meaning to say: It seems the value equation isn't as impressive at the SCUT level when compared to the next level of tractors. This applies to all brands. This is only my observation but it seems as though you pay a very high premium for a product that has limited capabilities.

This is probably going off topic so I will leave the SCUT/Value debate for another time.

I have only been researching tractors for a few months but I think of scuts as the exact opposite, a machine that can do many thinks and is fairly affordable. It can mow, plow, use a fel, backhoe, till etc. Then again, I'm looking at it from someone who will use it around my property for chores and not big jobs.

They seem very unsure when to release it to the public. There must be a reason behind it.

A little birdie told me that availabiltiy is a ways off yet. They are probably concerned that they let the cat of the bag too soon. No one is going to want a 2305 going into spring if they are aware new models are a few months off.

I Was quoted $19,600 for tractor with front loader and backhoe, setup.

... well there goes any concerns I had about real competition from Deere.

I think your birdie may have gotten some bum information. Dealers have been receiving them over the past few weeks and can start selling them in Mid-March. They already have the pricing and have been giving out quotes.

The 1026R's have been around $15.5k with MMM and loader. Mutton just posted their pricing, for a 1026R, 54" MMM and D120 loader - $15,299.
