I have a 1967 Ford 4000 and a 1967 Farmall 1206. "They" made pretty good stuff back then. I seriously doubt any of the new tractors, no matter what brand, will be around in 44 + years. It is sad!

ditto that. the stuff I play with is all from the mid 50's.. ie.. 56+ ys old. I doubt any machines made today will have that type of useable life span and STILL be working and rebuildable with on the shelf parts..

I own a kubota, so I obviously think they make a good tractor. They don't offer all the high end features that you might get with a row crop JD or other brand. I'm curious though, how come whenever this topic comes up, why doesn't Case get mention, or it hardly gets mentioned. I live in Wisconsin, and it seems Case is a pretty big name up here. I believe NH is the same brand. Is that why, people just lump it under NH? Or, is Case not a very good tractor?

Might have to agree on that, the JD H I just sold was 66yrs old and purred like a kitten. Most powerful 12hp tractor I have ever seen.

I know "the one you have" and "the one you can afford" are proper answers kind of like "Who is the prettiest girl in the world" - "Well, my wife of course"

Size does matter so let's say under 75HP.

My Opinion? I think they are all about the same. I own a MF and I looked at the Green ones and the Orange ones. For what it is worth they all seem to come off the same line in some far away place.

Kubota seems a little tougher, more business then pleasure but that is just an observation. JD seems more user focused, MF seems to be about right in the middle.

I think Sweet Farms hit it on the head, Tractors like most things these days don't seem to be built for the long haul. Sadly, years from now the fields will be littered with empty plastic tractor shells instead of glorious rusted iron...

There are certainly more CaseIH combines here than any other brand and tractors over 200hp too .JD only seem to dominate in the smaller 100-200hp class .

Many great 'new' tractors out there; find the one's that fit your needs and you'll probably find they are all competitively priced. Then go with the better dealer as opposed to the better deal.
