I own a kubota, so I obviously think they make a good tractor. They don't offer all the high end features that you might get with a row crop JD or other brand. I'm curious though, how come whenever this topic comes up, why doesn't Case get mention, or it hardly gets mentioned. I live in Wisconsin, and it seems Case is a pretty big name up here. I believe NH is the same brand. Is that why, people just lump it under NH? Or, is Case not a very good tractor?
I don't agree with this. A good Quality tractor today, will be a good quality tractor tomorrow. As long as parts for your "newer" tractor are still available why wouldn't it last? I owned a 1959 Allis D17, and it ran great, but I had to rebuild the carb every few years, and adjust the clutch, and if the power steering went, I had to have it split, and rebuilt, and on, and on. So yes it is still going. Why wont my Kubota L4400 last me till I die? I maintain it, and I will fix things as they go. Kubota seems to be around to stay. I am sure when they started to replace the steam tractors of the late 1800s, with gas tractors, the old Farmers were shaking their heads, and making the same arguments.I have a 1967 Ford 4000 and a 1967 Farmall 1206. "They" made pretty good stuff back then. I seriously doubt any of the new tractors, no matter what brand, will be around in 44 + years. It is sad!
NH bought out Ford and I think Oliver and Cockshutt as well. Case bought David Brown and then joint with Internatioal Harvester, so I guess Case might be linked under IH.![]()
