I think I will replace the seal how hard could it be..
If mine were leaking like that I would put a seal in it and be done with it! I done my B and it is not much of a job, less than $50.00

It may also be cracked as noted above, in that case I would want it replaced so I did not have failure later on.
did it require any special tools? Or - just sockets/wrenches? I have the problem as well, but it's not too bad, so I've been putting it off.
Nothing special required but you will need GOOD snap ring pliers. I got by the first time with the pliers I had but got a good set for the other side and it made it a bit easier.

Thank you. So - by a "Good" set of snap ring pliers, are you saying Snap-on/MAC brand quality, or Craftsman/Kobalt quality?

Good as in substantial not the cheap sheet metal stampings.
Oh.....I do not drink while working but it took 3 beers after the job was done
I am guessing at 1 to 1.5 hours per side????
