Removing circular saw blade

When I prevent a circular saw blade from rotating on an old Craftsman circular saw and then rotate the mounting bolt holding the blade on the shaft (in EITHER direction) to remove the blade, I can see on the backside of the blade that the motor shaft is turning with the mounting bolt. I therefore can't remove the blade. There is NO lock button or anything else I can find to keep the motor shaft from turning. (For that matter, there is also no mechanism for keeping the blade from rotating and I have to insert a screwdriver in a hole in the blade until it butts up against the saw housing to keep the blade from rotating. Even when doing that to keep the blade from rotating, the motor shaft STILL rotates along with rotation of the moutning bolt. (BTW its a Craftsman 7 1/4" saw, 2 1/8HP, 10 amp, Model 315.108320 and has "A0125" on it.) I can't find a manual at Sears either.

If you have an impact battery or air gun I would give that a try. The impact gun hammers on the fastner very rapidly, using the motor and blade mass to loosen the bolt. Just make sure you are loosening in the correct direction! You may damage the blade bolt by overtightening.

follow the shaft to the opposite side of the saw from the blade. see if there is a hole. in the case. to put an allen wrench into the end of the shaft.

try putting some liquid wrench on the shaft. on both sides of the blade.

are you turning it the right direction? i've turned mine the wrong way before.

Impact is a good idea, but I don’t understand how it’s happening. If the shaft turns independently of the blade, then it must not cut wood either?

Go on google, type in your saw make and model # and ask operator manual?

example: Porter Cable Model xxxx circular saw operator's manual?

Usually have them in pdf format you can look at or download.

Any hole in the blade guard where you can slide a phillips screwdriver or small rod between a couple of the teeth?

We have a Skil saw that is older than the hills. It uses 6" blades but the important part is the hole in the blade and is circular.To get it off i put a nail through the hole in the blade and use a wrench . I can not remember thou which way I turn.
On your saw should you not have a diamond knock out in the blade. I thick if you clamp the blade in the vise and turn the screw out that should work. You may need a impact gun, but that means it is now way too tight. You can make a homemade impact wrench by using a regular box 6 point and striking it in the direction to turn of.

you could try unpluging the saw lift up the guard put pressure against blade into wood to stop rotating and turn bolt.

Most sidewinder (right-side blade) saws unscrews lefty-loosey. Unplug the saw, swing the blade guard up, rest the teeth on a chunk of lumber, fit a box-end wrench the right size on the bolt/nut with other end to the left, and hit the open end with a small hammer. Impact gun does the same.
Might be a washer missing is why it's so tight? Does the motor run faster than the blade? Worm drive (left blade) righty-loosey.
