I hope to get my Ride On tracked dumper finished this spring. Was going to build a standy "tear drop trailer" but bought a 2011 R-Vison Crossover 19 footer so maybe the little lady and I will take a road trip (if we can afford the gas, going up to $1.20\litre tonight in Toronto ($5.00 USA\Gallon).

Might cut some trees down and build a drive she for my new trailer.

My goal is to get about 20 acres of family land in my name, and clear out a site to build a cabin.

Also to get Sixdogs to come help me take the sag out of the old barn on the property :D

I only have 3 dogs, can't imagine 6! My wife wants another though, what kind do you have?

On the sags--been there and done that decades ago in Maine.
As for help...well...ahh..err...ahh....well, I do have lots 'O free advice.

About dogs, the best way is to get them sold first. Some women view these as kids and can't let go.
We are considering puppies again (down to four right now) and I have four already agreed to with good homes my wife would approve of.
Two seems to be the ideal number, three OK and beyond that it's nice to have a breed that won't try to run away.
We have Springer Spaniels and, because they are flushing bird dogs, have centuries of breeding to stay close.
A trail of T-bones wouldn't make them run away.

That's interesting about the Springer Spaniels being bred to stay close. I'm trying to convince my wife that 3 is enough but she just isn't having it  Looks like we might be getting a fourth, 3 weeks until they are born and then I have 2 months to either give in, or put my foot down. The problem is she keeps sending me pics of other puppies and I just can't resist

We have two english mastiff's now and one st. bernard, she wants to start breeding the st. bernard. The good thing is they don't run so it might not be bad, I have all I can do to wake up the mastiffs for dinner time

Back to the original subject, I'll also add that I want to cut all the joinery for my 16X24 timberframe cabin. I'm sure you've seen some nice examples in the old barns you've worked on in Maine.
I have a nice woodlot of white pine that I'm slowly working on, I cut down a few trees, bring them to the mill, mill them into timbers, then cut the joinery. Doing it this way I don't get too far ahead of myself and have timbers laying around waiting to be cut.

I'll have a busy summer that's for sure. :D

I'll be sure to let you know how it works out. (Hopefully have the backhoe done soon) I really got a lot of work done to it today.

I really strengthened the mount for the backhoe, tonight. I got the boom, and boom cylinder mounted. I still need to buy 2 more cylinders, some hoses and some fittings.

I bought some square tubing for the boom and stick. The backhoe should be able to dig around 7 Feet.

I'll get some pics and post them, when my other computer with the card reader starts working again.

Chad
I use my backhoe about every year to turn the garden, about 20' by 30', works well.

I am going to try and find an inexpensive way to eliminate deer, groundhogs and rabbits from entering and destroying my garden. I cannot be there during the week to use Winchester's and Browning's method.;)

My only real project this year is to get crushed rock on the soggy areas of my road and build a structure to put some equipment in. That should take the whole summer, if I plan it right (smile)

Only real important thing is to replace the rotted facia boards on the shop then install new or reinstall existing ventilated soffits, if I can save the existing soffits I will. Then I can put all the trim pieces on the edges of the new metal roof that was installed enough late last fall to be weather resistant. I'll have to remove the ridge piece and cut vent openings then reinstall the ridge piece with the screened vents.
Stain the trim on house and shop
Keep painting stuff until there is no unused paint left on the property:laughing: It could happen. I'm better at buying paint than applying it.
Reglaze windows that have lost their seal and are fogging up inside
After that it will be mostly maintain/improve trails, cut up windblown trees for the woodpile and remove volunteer trees along the edge of the lawn to reverse the encroachment that has been going on for a while.
The never ending 'clean up the shop'.
Lots of other little things that I haven't thought of.
