This is gonna be a big year for me, since I'm going to quit my job and start building our homestead in SC.

1) Clear 1-1/2 acres
2) Get a driveway in
3) Build a barn
4) Build a house
5) Put up fences, prep a garden area, etc.

I'm pretty sure I won't get all of this done by the end of the year, though! This will be my 'last great adventure', and I'll have a thread on it, or at least a blog. Should be interesting......

I use my backhoe about every year to turn the garden, about 20' by 30', works well.

Hmmm...I kinda got the impression that was not a good idea...I'll have to try that.

My main project is to build a 16'x20' shed so I can clear out my 30'x40' workshop so I can work on other projects on my list. I have a well cluttered workshop. I have spent a few days working out in the cold instead of inside the workshop.

Some other projects: fabricate grapple & Hog trap, reroof hanger, screen in back porch, paint house trim, continue clearing property.

"Work inside workshop."

Actually, unless you have a well established garden of many years I would not recommend it either. We have many many years of compost on our garden and it works well.

1: Put finishing touches on the new deck.
2: Build retaining wall and terracing from landscape blocks I've had piled up
for two years.
3: Paint grapple before it returns to original elements.
4: Move water boiler I built and put concrete pad under it before it sinks to
China.
5: Bribe Father-in-Law to bring me loads of dirt in his dump truck and build
backstop for pistol range.
If all goes well,I might finish one or two.
P.S.: Build snow pusher.

I hope to build a 40x60x16 metal building on my land. I have the cash in hand to do it but am afraid to pull the trigger for two reasons.

The first is the economy, that money looks awful good setting in the bank.

The second is that I am afraid of making a mistake on some part of the build
(Planning to buy a kit and erect it myself) so I keep gathering more and more info, which kicks up more questions, options, so I keep gathering more and more info...arggh.

I got pooped just reading this thread, lol.

Talking about what needs to be done is like climbing the hill before I get there. I know there is plenty to do, money, energy and health withstanding. Here is hoping we all play safe.
