Oil & Fuel BX oil change

I made the mistake of having Messicks do a 50hr service, now i got a bill from them for $680.00 so make sure you learn how to do it your self!

PM me your name. If all you had done was an oil change... I'll be calling you with a nice credit. The typical full service on a BX is half that.

I'm gonna bet that Messicks shop hour rate is north of 100 an hour, but still, it doesn't add up.

Its $68 right now (With a few exceptions). We're on the lower 1/3 of what you'll see around us. Our local CAT shop is $125.

Messicks has a good reputation from their customers on this forum. I don't think they would have with this kind of charge for a 50 hour service on a BX. As I said before, I'm waiting on the itemized or corrected bill.

Hey, ive bin busy, but here goes: the story is: had a little warranty work done and while they had it they did the 50 ser. The bill was not really itemized but here goes:the oil and filters came to around 56.00. was told to pick and deliver was 270.00 -warranty doesn't cover this, the rest was labor which says 289.00. I think i paid for the warranty work. The neighbors that have kubotas said the price sounded like normal. Was disappointed that they didn't check front axle, it was 1 1/2 qt low, so i filled it up. Its hard to complain about typical warranty work! I still love my tractor and yes i still like Messicks.

Hey freddy, thanks for getting back with the details.

Kinda figured from the get-go that there was some trucking charges involved, as well as warranty work. Some of the rather high quotes we've seen posted here for 50 hour service, and yes, there's been some high quotes, often fail to mention the delivery.

It's a good reminder that warranty does NOT obligate the dealer to fetch or return your tractor. Pickup/delivery for a couple of 50 miles round trips is going to cost serious money. I remember the dealer on my BX, at the time, making sure I understood that the warranty began at his shop's front door.

I don't know how common this is, but Davis Farm Supply offered to send a guy down to do the 50 hour service on our M8540 on site for a cost of $100 plus materials. My son did it instead, but I thought the price was a fair one.
