I'm looking for some 48 inch pallet forks for our 4320 JD. We have the CX loader. Our local JD dealer has some rated for 5klbs, which seems like overkill since that's about double the loader's lift capacity.

Any suggestions please?

Do you have the JDQA or SSQA carrier (how the bucket and forks attach to the loader)?

Everything Attachments and Horst Welding have both styles, and if you have the SSQA then the options are endless.

What's the breakout force on your loader? That may be more impotant than lifting capacity when rating FEL mounted forks.

We have the JD quick attach.

Since almost all fork attachments are going to have more capacity than your loader, I would suggest that you be more concerned about the weight of the attachment. The heavier the attachment, the less you can ultimately lift. Baby Grand is correct in that more than just lifting capability drives the design of fork attachments and their ratings.

Kennyd linked this on another thread:
Artillian Pallet Forks/

These look really nice and are built to work with your loader.

Thanks for the links everyone, those are the ones I looked at earlier this morning, they seem to weigh as much (or close enough not to matter) as the JD ones (around 400lbs).

I've used my forks to dig out frozen logs and root wads from slash piles as well as the normal pallet work.

Working the curl function at ground level and wrestling the front end of the tractor around... well, I'm glad my forks are rated for 5,000lbs!

You will be too!

I Will second AK's comments. If all you were ever going to do is dead lift pallets, then maybe lighter would do, but if you are going to use them for (whatever) then get the jd ones. I nkow I've stressed mine and they have held up.
