The final drive in the "hydro" is spur gear in all 2000 series tractors but we are not talking about that gear. The outer ends of the rear (2520/2720) and front (all 2x20) axles are planetary by definition.

i had a 2520, and the final drive was definetely not a planetary drive.....

How do you break a cast iron part like that !!! It takes a lot of force to break nodular cast iron used on tractors. Phil

What broke was the final drive housing. It's aluminum, not cast iron.
