Tractor
Kubota L45
:newhere: Well finally made a decision after 10 months of research . . . . . . chose orange over green (yellow JD 110). Looked at many, many, many used tractors as well but in the end the 0% financing for 60 months was too good to pass up. Other than worrying about the almost certain blow out w/ the wife when she finds out I bought it (and the price!) I have been on a 24 hr. natural high. :cloud9: Haven't been this excited since I don't know when!:D

Take delivery at the end of March, I'll try to post some pictures then. I am going to primarily clear some land, move some dirt and build a garage over the next couple of years.

Anybody got one of these bad boys? Any advice or things to look out for?

OK gotta go practice breaking the news to the wife - Honey . . . .you know that tractor I've been thinking of getting . . . . . .

Congrats! That is one awesome machine. Been looking at one myself however the dealer hasn't quite enticed me enough. Do you mind me asking what ballpark you paid? I am assuming you got the thumb?

Funny, it was my wife that wanted me to get the new cab tractor. She got tired of seeing me out in the cold, wet snow for hours on end for the past 14 years.

Same thing here. We had a cab tractor at another farm and due to the cost of a cab, I was going to buy an open station for the farm on which we live. After looking at several different models, my wife "convinced" me to get a cab. Fortunately before I ordered one, a used one came up and we love it.

That worked out great because that summer our other tractor went toes up and we had to buy a new one there.

Paid $40,310 w/ thumb, shopped around several different places, thought it was a good deal but still a lot of money for a weekend warrior to spend on a tractor.

I'm envious of those of you who's wives encouraged you to buy and/ or upgrade, my wife says I spend too much $$$ on things we don't need:confused2:

That is a very good price with thumb. My dealer is quoting $45k and thinks he is giving me a great bargain. I would jump at 40K!

Good choice, I have the L-45 and love it. It really is good setup. The one seat operation is so nice along with the creeping function being able to move forward and backwards when running the backhoe is no nice. Just an all around great rig, so happy I paid the extra money over the Grand L 3240 to get this. Anyways good luck with yours.

Same here as well. I think there was motive here though because i think she ultimately wants to use the tractor.!

Great for you! My wife said she wished" I would up-date tractors last year".Even okayed a smaller new model, I wanted 5 more hp for the tiller.... She almost fell off the stool when i told her i had taken the dip for a used Kubota. Now I can feel the power..

my wife refuses to read the new operators manual. she has operated the old JD for 14 years. no problems.

But the new tractor is way more complicated. she started it the other day without letting the glow plugs cycle for the 8 seconds.....the thing sounded like she was beating it with a stick. i ran over and had a nice discussion with her about it.

bottom line is "she either reads the instructions or ....no tractor use" I'm not going to wreck a brand new tractor engine.
