I would try slowly turning the top, feel for any "click" or unusual bump and you may find the key-way. I think that arrow definitely marks a keyed point. Usually a "twist" off arrow points in the direction of turn like you've seen before.

Also as mentioned, I would locate the manufacturer and make a call if possible.

This thing probably is like a pill bottle to assure the lid stays on, (cupped lid) as you have found out!!!

it sort of looks like this norwesco look at the pdf there are 4 lugs

All the snyder and ace tanks are different on the top
the norwesco bruiser are different too

the pdf shows the lugs at 45 deg off center line of the plumbing

Hey Thanks JB but I dont have a problem I have not had spetic tank pumped since i move out here so i thought it was time Turd sucker comes sat morning i was just getting it ready and wanted to peak in side to see what i could see lol. Any how i didnt have time last night to look at it so tonight i plan to spend some more time checking the lid for ways to come off if not like someone said im sure the turd sucker will know. I will try to keep ya updated on how this turns out for me .

Interesting, here the lid has to be above ground. Mine has a concrete lid at ground level that just lifts off exposing the inner lid on top of the tank that also just lifts off. Whatever you do, don't fall in.

Mine is concrete and is burried about 6 inches under the surface. I have a flower bed over top of it and hit the top digging it up(flower bed) and when planting.
