Has anyone found a receiver hitch that will fit in the back of the RTV1140? I love that it has a standard 2" size, but the depth is not adequate to hold any hitch I have found. I first tried the one from my pickup and it was too long. I bought one at the Co-Op that I felt sure was short enough but it also is too long. I measured last night and there can only be 1.75" from the back end of the hitch to the hole for the pin. What are you using?

anyway to just saw off some from the end to make it fit?

I thought about that but it's not my first choice. These hitches are pretty thick and I don't have the correct tools to cut them properly.

If the hitch you bought is hollow why not slide it in, mark the hole on each side and redrill new holes 1.75" in from the end.

My neighbor cut his off on his RTV900 but I believe I like this idea better.

That's how I did it for my RTV 500's 2" hitch....worked great

Used a Portaband to cut the one for the 500 and it still works on the 1100...Kubota probably made it 1/2 or so inches too small on purpose...Ya think?:D

I wouldn't re-drill, I'd cut it.....With some patience, grinding might work. My adult ADHD won't allow for that.

I'm not thrilled with either idea suggested but I guess I may be trying to cut it off short sometime soon.

That's an option as well but if you drill a hole closer to the end of a full length receiver you will move your trailer a little further back which is a good thing...at least it was with the RTV 500. On my RTV 500 the bed overhangs my hitch by at least a foot, pushing the trailer further back helps prevent possible reconstruction of your cargo box.

Thanks for bringing this up. I hadn't thought about the trailer possible being too close to the bed, mainly because I haven't had a way to hook one up yet . I'm going to take a look at it this weekend and maybe decide to go the way of drilling another hole.
