Drill a hole in the ground, plant it in it.;)
That is just what we do! Spin the auger into the ground and unhook everything. Its not going to fall over now.:)

This is the one I built from some 1.5" scrap pipe and 2" square tubing I had laying around getting rusty doing nothing, so I put it to work. With this setup I am able to back up to it with the tractor, no precision necessary, just get close and I can hook up the PHD myself in just a few minutes with no strain or pain.

Made a dolly for mine. The two post approach means even less lifting when you go to attach it. The top hole will be within a half inch from when you took it off. It also keeps things under control when wheeling it around. This was left over wood, only cost was the castors. Some year I'll put some vertical pieces on the end to hold my other auger.

I also made a small dolly to hold my iMatch, which has to come off to put on the PHD.

Just like beppington, I hang my post hole digger on a heavy chain from the front beam of a pole barn, close to one of the corner posts. Works great, you dont have to build or buy anything.

Except that some of us would have to build the barn first, and that does cost something.

i like the ideas for hanging it indoors. up here in north Idaho, if i were to screw it into the ground and leave it, it would be a rusted mess in no time at all.

all of my equipment is stored under cover. its a pet peeve of mine that if I'm going to spend money for a tool, it is to be stored indoors.

if i don't have room to store it, i wont buy it.

I like that thinking, problem is that a barn big enough to hold all my tractors and equipment would cost me well over 100k and I just don't have that kind of money. :(

Made this a few years ago out of some scrap wood and wheels from a box store. Not as pretty as some of the others but it works well. It's nice to be able to roll it up to the 3PH.
