I am sure nothing can be done, and I am not sure If I should post this in this forum, but that DANG JD banner ad at the top is driving me NUTS:confused2:

EVERYTIME my mouse crosses it (like when going up the click "my home" or "todays posts") a LARGER pop-up AD appears and completely blocks what I am trying to click on.

And usually by the time I realized the pop-up, I have already clicked where "my home" was supposed to be, only to be fooled into opening a NEW window linking me to JD.

Just kinda a rant, as this is driving me crazy:confused2: Not sure if anything can be done?? Maybe make the pop-up smaller, so that it doesnt block forum functions??????

Hmmmmm
I don't get a JD banner at the top. Wonder why? Maybe by zip code?
Been getting a Bobcat banner running, but scroll down quick to avoid it. Not associated with mousing over it.

I don't have a problem with ads, as they pay the bills to keep TBN up and running for us. Otherwise, there would be a fee to belong.

Now, get control of that mouse. :)

I see this

The JD banner appears ONLY when I am at "my home" main page. It doesnt seem to appear any other time.

When I go to my home, and have no "new subscriptions" that is a time for me to step away from the computer for awhile.

When I come back, I just click "my home" again to refresh and see if there are any new posts to threads that I am "subscribed" to. That is when that Pop-up gets me everytime.

I dont have a problem with the ads and advertizers. I understand their place in this wonderful forum. I just hate the fact that the pop-up is so large that it bocks forum functions

I use Firefox for a browser program but I think Internet Explorer has a Pop-up blocker program in the tools section. Turn it on and the Pop-up ads will stop. If you can't find it you can download a pop-up blocker program for IE by going to add ons.

I am using IE, but thats the thing, I DO have p/u blocker on.

Everytime I get a new PM and click the box "view it now", it wont open because I have popup blocker on.

And that is just one example. There are several other times while jsut browsing that the little tab at the top tells me that a pop-up was blocked and to "click here" to view it.

But for whatever reason, it does NOT work on that JD ad.

Thanks for the feedback. The JD ad is what's called an expandable ad, not a pop-up. It expands to a bigger size when you mouse over it. If you don't scroll your mouse over it, the ad will not expand.

That would explain why the pop-up blocker doesnt work on it:thumbsup:

Its just kinda a PITA. I know if you dont scroll over it.........

But it is right there in the way when scrolling to the top to use those functions like "todays posts" and "my home".

But if I have to put up with it to be able to enjoy this great and FREE forum, so be it.

I would be just a tad more understanding though if it were a kubota AD :laughing::laughing:
