Thanks all. Out of town for a couple of days at the Conservation District meeting's.

Yup, the waiting is getting a bit tighter (for lack of a better word..) now and I'm really lookin' forward to pullin' in the driveway with it on the trailer!

Kubota dealer is in Anchorage. I'm aware of only 3 brands of tractors available at what you would really consider a "dealership" in Alaska: John Deere, New Holland and Kubota.

New Holland has been a bit shaky with the biggest dealership recently changing owner's. Kubota has been higher $$ on some models of tractors versus Deere. And of course, the Deere guys up here have never looked at the Internet... :shocked:

Did you pick the 23 series over the 24 series, or is that what the dealer recommended? I have not seen that type of rear blade but once.

It was my choice. I looked at the 22 series of rear blades and of course, the heaviest duty blade series; the 24's along with the 23 series.

To be honest, I really think that the 22 series would probably do just fine for the work I have - cleaning the horse corral, maintaining my parking areas and driveway and lot's of snow removal. However, you can only buy the 22 blade series with 1 hyd function.

I really wanted the angle function and the hyd offset. But, I don't use the tilt function all that much with my current rear blade.

So, I split the difference in the blade series and that gave me the hydraulic options I wanted with plenty enough "iron" to get the work done.

I suspect the 2308 was a good choice for the new tractor. If you later add more rear valves then top n tilt can accomplish the tilt function when needed. Still we all have to stop somewhere, I think putting the additional money into the hp upgrade was the wise choice.
