I wanted a new plow but I couldn't afford it so

I just bought an RBT3584 and my tractor is a bit narrow at 60" rear wheel width. The 6' model would not have covered the wheels when angled. I deliberated for quite a while between the two models and I'm glad I got the wider one.

Hmmm,
I've been thinking a lot about the width.

My tractor tires are set to an outside width of 69 inches. That's as wide as I could go and still stay inside the 6 foot front bucket.
I have come to the conclusion that for my uses, I don't think covering my tracks when the blade is angled is going to be much of an issue. I'll mostly be working ditches and stuff like that and the blade will be at a sharp angle most of the time anyway.

One thing...
This blade is for working in dirt. We ain't got snow here for the most part. Since I've had a tractor we have had one storm that required any snow to be moved and I just shoved that off to the side with my FEL.

I am now however, strongly considering going with the 8 footer vs the 7 footer.

Decisions, decisions.:confused2:

I am only 3 inches wider than you......believe me. You don't want a 7' blade. In snow I sometimes want a 9' blade. And definely in dirt I would like a 9' blade. Depending on what your soil is like many times on mine I need to angle it so far to move the dirt my 8' blade does not even come close to covering my 6' track of the tractor.

Actually, I did not tear the the blade apart. It was the other guy...

I have the 8 footer, fully hydraulic w. hydraulic tail wheel, too and I wouldn't go smaller ...I especially like the 30" offset for ditching ...and, with 96" I can offset and still cover rear wheels even when angled ...perfect for snow clearing.

I would recommend the "cushion valve" option for the angle hydraulics.

[full hydraulics and also T&T takes a lot of rear remotes, but I have six on my L4330, which just works out: 4 for the blade and 2 for T&T]

:laughing::laughing::laughing:
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Once again guys, no snow.
But I'm strongly considering the 8 footer now. I need to mock up something behind my tractor to see how this all fits together.

I could simply add a foot (a board or something) to each end of my current 6 footer and see how it works out.

I think I'll have issues with transporting the tractor if I go too big.
