Careful, flyboy will chime in by saying Ford has sold so many more vehicles than any one else, that is why so many are being recalled:laughing::laughing:

Maybe in the states, not world wide, I bet there is alot more Toyota's sold in other country's than any of the big three. I am not a Ford fan, just pointing out my two cents. I am a rusty old Dodge fan.

I have no problems with recalls. They are a fact of life. I can not think of a single vehicle I have ever owned, Ford-GM-Dodge-Nissan-Honda-Toyota, ect that has not had one or more. As long as they acknowledge the issue and fix it to new or better standards thats all you can ask.

By the way, its Diamondpilot, not flyboy. I have never called you out of your name.

Lastly, this has nothing to do with current truck but truck made nearly 10 years ago. Go back to any vehicle that old and I would bet you could find a recall on any of them no matter who its made by.

 So true.
I have no problems with recalls.
What you meant to say was that you have no problems with FORD recalls. You obviously are so worried about GM owners that you need to post any recall that comes out and bash them for it yet conveniently let the Ford recalls slip by...

Explain to me how exactly the turbo V6 is "flexible". It gets the same 20 mpg highway as the V8's yet will cost more to maintain and fix, won't tow as well, and will get half the fuel mileage loaded as a comparable V8. It's nothing more than hype to sell to the grocery getters and the guys that need a truck to go to Home Depot for some light bulbs and a gallon of paint.

Here's the real story about your wonderful V8 beating turbo V6.

Here you go Dmace. Here's how the V6 towed in the most extreme conditions:

"On I-70 in Colorado, on the same route we did our Rumble in the Rockies, we also ran the F-150 pulling the 9,000-pound trailer. We were stunned by how well it pulled at such high elevation on the 7 percent grade. It was so strong that we had to start testing at 10,000 feet to ensure the rig didn't climb the hill at an unsafe speed at wide open throttle. The EcoBoost F-150 ran the quarter-mile in 27.83 seconds at 50.83 mph more than enough to keep up with or pass traffic. That's a performance we don't think could be easily matched by a non-turbo gas engine, even a large-displacement V-8."

How many GM fans were confident enough in "the New GM" to go out and buy their stock after GM robbed every previous stockholder and took ALL of their money? If you did go back to that well again at $35 a share, how ya feeling about getting burned again? Sorry, I no longer care what GM builds, after their politics and theft of billions of dollars from millions of people, I wouldn't touch anything they build with a ten foot pole. Sales numbers show I'm not the only one who feels that way. According to Automotive News, GM is already beginning to posture for another bailout. Selling their "new" stock at $35 a share was a $10 per share loser for the government and it's tanking from the original $35 and, with lagging sales, GM is hinting that they may need to go to the Government for a few billion more. After what they've done, stick a fork in 'em. They're done as far as I'm concerned.

How to Get EcoBoost in Your Television - PickupTrucks.com News
It's just all the fake "torture test" they have been putting out on Youtube combined in one show along with the live tear down at the end. Just a 30 minute commercial for Ford.

I bet they won't do a live dyno test on a real chassis dyno showing the power to the wheels...

Please provide some proof that this test was fake since you keep saying that. I'm open minded. Just give us some empirical and factual proof that the tests were fake.

If you keep reading, you'll see that they still choose the V8 5.0l as a better towing motor and that V6 only gets 7.2 mpg average while towing. Once again, it's hardly "flexible" when it gets slightly better fuel mileage empty and much worse fuel mileage while towing. The V8 is still a better overall choice...

You can believe it all you want but if your that accepting that those are true test and not altered at all then I've got some ocean front property in Wyoming to sell you, or better yet some GM stock.

You should read the article before quoting it. It got 8.3 mpg towing, and that was towing 9000lbs through the mountians. I'm impressed with those numbers. What are you comparing it to when you say it gets "much worse fuel milage"? The 5.0 towing test was a 600 mile course. The 3.5 test was through more mountian elevations and over 2000 miles, all the way to Colorado.

They also said "EcoBoost also works well if you're going to regularly tow a heavy trailer at high altitude because its performance is only matched by today's heavy-duty diesels in that environment."

I'm not arguing it is the best engine for all people. Ford offers 4 unique engines to fit everyone's work environment. Each engine has it's strengths and weaknesses. My arguement is for people who think the 3.5 is a failure, probably because it bests their favorite V8 in most tests or maybe because they hoped it would fail and it didn't.
