Oscar is now 8 months old and over 200 pounds. He's not liking the warmer temps very much and is sleeping a lot more during the day. And when he's asleep, he's out!!! LOL

For the longest time, I thought he was scratching all the time, but now I think he's marking his territory. He likes to rub mud on everything. He'll just do it once and leave it alone, but if I clean off the mud, he'll notice and rub mud on it right away. He does this with people too. If you come over, he'll come up to sniff you, then try to rub mud on you and your car. Tires are a big favorite for him to make muddy!!!!

I have people come out here fairly often to meet him. Clients, friends and girst that I meet. He's great with kids too. I had a family come out to look at my kitchen, and while talking to them, their kids spent an hour outside playing with Oscar.

Eddie,

Oscar seems to be maturing nicely and its good he is gentle around the kids too. The mud I cant explain - it does seem like he is marking his scent on things I agree.

He does seem to have some nice looking admirers too - they are his girlfriends I suppose..

Question now is how do you weigh him? Go to the local weigh scale in your truck with Oscar?

Is that downspout looking thing his feeder?

Yes. I had one that I bought from Atwoods that looked kind of like a drinking water jug and food dish on it. I had to drill holes into my concrete and screw it down, then strap it to the post to keep Oscar from tearing it apart. As he grew, his weight and strength became too much for it, and he busted it to little pieces.

I made that feeder for the deer and put it in a tree. The deer never touched it, and I lost interest in trying to find something for them to eat out of it that they really liked. It's been sitting empty for about two years, and totaly forgotten by me until I saw it while out mowing right after Oscar had destroyed the other feeder.

I'm hoping that schedule 40 PVC is strong enough for him. I have it screwed into the concrete and the two straps. I'm thinking about two more straps just to stay ahead of him in his scratching/rubbing on everything.

We just spent the last six hours out spraying all my grass with Oscar chasing me around the entire time. Now he is sound asleep. He really crashes when he's tired. Nothing will wake him up for a few hours, so I'm thinking it's a great time to get some painting in. If he's awake when I paint, he will rub off the paint and leave mud there instead!!!
