Dirt Moving FEL Lacking Power

I have a Kubota dealer 3 mile from me, maybe I can get them to rent me the gauge for an hour.
Where is this relief valve at, where shims would be put?
I know some control valves have this relief valve built in and only requires that a bolt be tightened or loosened to change the pressure.
I read another thread on this subject and think that the problem is me at this time. However, if I could bump up the pressure just a tad it might make a difference.
Thanks All

Do a search for a thread here called "BX Christmas Present". Good thread on how to adjust your BX pressure relief valve.

I don't know if its just me or what, but the FEL seems to be weak in its operations. I am moving a pile of dirt (topsoil) that has been there for 10 years. Once I push into the pile I can't lift or curl the bucket. I have to back out a little to get the bucket to respond. I am not pushing into the pile very far either. I can scoop and lift a full bucket of loose soil after fluffing the dirt.
Maybe I am expecting to much. I realize this is a small machine, but its also a small bucket. I have operated a Case 480 backhoe with FEL many hours.
Seems that if you can push the front tires off the ground it ought to lift better than it does.

What your dealing with is 10 years of natural compaction
in the material you are attempting to move and use.

The compaction is the result of gravity acting on the topsoil
and rainwater percolating through it and then compacting the
top soil.

What you should be using is the back hoe to break it all up
and then scoop it up.

The front end loader bucket is ment for the gathering if loose materials.

...pressure tested it and it measured out at about 1,750 psi. Maximum pressure per spec should be 1,778....they should shim the relief to bring it up to spec.
You might be able to just tighten the nut without even opening the system. Worked for mine, just a half turn more.

When I bought my BX 24 in 2006 I was sure i made a big mistake. no power. Turns out i had it in high range.: Put it in low and been happy ever sense. Great tractor

Interesting. I'll give it a try before I talk with my dealer. Would be nice it that's all it took.

BUT make sure you know what pressure it is before and after!!! a blown hydraulic line is not fun and is dangerous!!!

Look at post #3 in the thread in my signature...

For sure. I already did a pressure boost on my old JD485 with a 45 loader on it to get more lifting power. Double checked the psi before and after at both idle and WOT. I will be doing another pressure check on the BX before I take any action just to confirm it is in fact on the low side. I don't see the need to go much past Kubota spec. If I can get it to 1,800 or a little over, I'll be happy.

Where is this nut to tighten? Or where is the relief valve where a shim is added?
I will test pressure before doing anything. I see BXpanded has a pressure guage for sale, $70. I think I will see if I can borrow/rent one from the Kubota dealer. Or remove the BH and FEL and load it into my 2 wheel trailer for the short 3 mi. trip to the dealer.

Thavil,
I see you live in the somd area. As I also do, but I have a question. I looked at the hydro kits on bxpaned and sent them an email about the kit. Do you know if that kit will work with the L4400? Like I said I sent them an email and no reply.
Thanks
