I just paid 4.39, but I only need 10 gallons, just have my little bota. Buffet came out of the recession richer than ever. He didn't take any bailout. Heck, he loaned Goldman, Sachs money. The guy still lives in the house he bought in the late 50's? No real fancy offices, his companies are run very conservatively - old time conservative. They have great balance sheets.

I hear the last car he bought for himself, he bought off eBay, used. He gave each one of kids something like $100K and told them that's all they were going to get make the best of it. He mentioned not long ago that his Sec. paid a higher percentage of tax than he does, he said that wasn't right.

People that had the capitol to buy into the market when it hit bottom have made a bundle since the market started pulling back out.

Warren Buffet got rich by making other people rich as opposed to people that make themselves rich by making everyone around poor.

Just reading that Saudi Arabia is cutting back on production because oil demand is low and there is a glut.
Than why are prices high?

Kinda what I wondered too. They do say Americans are starting to use less fuel, but it is to pay for necessities that have also gone up because of fuel prices.

It's like watching a dog chase his tail.

I saw the other day that we're using less now than 3 years ago and usage has
dropped for the last 6 weeks in a row but the law of supply and demand doesn't
seem to work for oil and gas in this country.

The problem is that the 3rd world is using more energy all the time. People that used to drive camels or mules are driving trucks. Oil and gas is a world commodity.

It all boils down to productivity. High wages can be supported only by high productivity. If our country keeps exporting not only jobs but also know how we will be screwed. There is not way around. There was a time when unions were fighting robots because they took jobs. GM closed one factory and Toyota opened one. Japanese robots caused unemployment in the US.
It was a big miscalculation. Work hard is not good enough anymore.
Technologically most advanced country will rule the world.
Would it help if engineering schools were free and the law school were ten times as expensive.

This waiting on the car to have oil changed and such, watching TV and NBC had someone who was predicting $6.00/Gal gas by the end of year.
