great pics,i bet your backside was numb after plowing that field.

You'd think, but actually that old metal spring seat on the NAA is pretty comfortable, really it rides better than my Kubota.

Got my little field disced today. Used my Leinbach #97 tandem disc, loaded with a 200lb truck tire/rim for extra weight. Used the Kubota and with 4wd it did pretty well. Went over it twice, half-lapping on the second time over. Soil worked up real nice, I'll let it sit a couple weeks then disc it again pulling a spike tooth harrow along as I go. Should be about ready for planting by then.

Good job of plowing. From looking at the backside of the trip spring on the plow, that looks like a Pittsburgh brand. Closer Side view would be able to tell for sure. I get the best results if I disc after a rain and also put a heavy well casing or railroad tie "drag" behind the disc. The drag will help seal off the field better so it can decompose quicker and usually saves maybe 1 trip over the field. Thanks for the Pics. Ken Sweet

Great pictures, brings back memories I can even smell the newly turned soil.

Yup, it's a smell I love almost as much as freshly mowed hay. I grew up in NC where it's pretty flat and we did a lot of moldboard plowing. Started when I was about 14 (I'm 26 now) using a 65hp JD 2550 with a 3-16 bottom plow and pulled a 14' tandem disc with the same tractor. I guess I'm kinda going backwards in the equipment department, lol.

I'll try to get a better pic of the plow soon. On the next pass I'll pull the harrow behind the disc, with this ground being as rough as it was I like to get the soil broken down a little more first. My spike tooth harrow is pretty rugged, but not like a well casing or RR tie, lol.

I'd like to see several close-ups of the spreader if you have a chance. Inside of the bed, the tracks, the drive system for the tracks, and the spreader on the rear. Also a closer look at the wheels and hitch.

Thank you,
