Got a chance to catch up on some farm work today, it's been really rainy here lately so some of this should have been done a month ago. This year we are planting a small plot of field corn to feed our livestock, poultry, etc next year as the cost of feed is going way up.

So after the area was grazed I hauled several loads of manure and spread them. This manure was from deep bedding in one of our cow pens, so it has a lot of bedding in it as well. We let it compost for a couple months before using it.

Thanks for the replies. Below are a few pics of plowing. This was all virgin ground and not exactly bottom land either. Soil is decent, but fairly heavy with some rock here and there (along with old bricks, pieces of burried farm equipment, etc lol.) It was a pretty tough job for a 30hp tractor, but I got it done. Not exactly the best plowing job I've ever done either, but given the conditions and equipment it's passable IMO.

Pic of the plow. I honestly don't know the make or model of this plow, but it has adjustable draft, spring trip bottoms and uses 14" Oliver bottoms (anyone know who made it?):

Mirror like surface, what a properly scoured plow bottom should look like:

I'll update this thread with some more pics as work progresses.

EDIT: And yes, to the plowing veterans, I realize I didn't level the plow on the back furrow, nor is it tracking straight, but I was in a hurry to get done before the weather, so I just ran it as is.
