This is a ripper I built after I tore apart a old double gang pull disk . We added the 3 point box frame to the front which sits on top the 6" x 2" x 1/4" channel of the main frame . Next , using my plasma cutter , I cut apart the back end were the gangs / bearing blocks were attached . Then it was just a matter of cutting 15 slots top and bottom into the 4" x 4" x 1/4" tube and welding it the the back of frame . Added the Pin plates on top the frame on both sides of the slots and made my own pins from round stock . Although there are 15 slots , I only pull 8 scarifier's at a time , they are 18" ones from Agri Supply . TC30 does all right with the 8 as long as I go side hill or down hill in the Clay soil we have here .

Ended up adding the two 3/4" braces from top of 3 point hitch down to the back of the main channel as that part had holes on the side from a couple of braces and started to crack .

Have primer on it , just waiting for it to warm up to add color . It has worked awesome though . Use to have to make multiple passes with my 6' KK disk for firebreaks around edge of property and down driveway . But with this , I make 1 pass with it and 1 with the disk . Have recovered many 10" to 20" rocks that the disk use to ride over and also pulled 6 sections of old 10" concrete culvert out .

Cool Yes , Good Build ???? Please notice the pictures are not TO Close !!!:D

Cannot let others see my welding or maybe my attempt's at welding .:D

Although so far it has stayed together even when pulling up that concrete culvert . My reason for going this route was I have a blade , so I seen no since in getting a box scraper just to use the scarifiers .

Being a truck owner / driver , I try to K.I.S.S. , ( Keep it Simple Stupid . Stupid meaning " Me" ) , thus I like to use my disk rather than my brush hog . Disking is a " No Brainer " type action , just don't run into anything with the tractor . While mowing requires a thought process , which I some times come up short on . Picture below is a section of the back skirt on my brush hog that I had to cut out and replace when my neighbor backed into a tree while mowing , ( Seriously , Was not me that time !! ) .

Thanks for the Compliment , Appreciate it .:)

nice job! it looks solid!

a Q, it looks like you have a FEL on tractor. with all the welding that you did. why not pull the bucket off the front. and weld a frame up so the rippers could go on front of tractor?

or perhaps weld the rippers to top edge of bucket. so you could just curl entire bucket down. to a point were the rippers could dig into the ground?

i would assume the rippers and all the welding. was fun and cheaper vs getting say a grapple bucket for FEL. and just use the teeth on the grapple to tear up the dirt?

Rippers like to be pulled, not pushed Boggen. Think of a trash can with wheels on a gravel driveway. Which is easier for you to move...pushing it or pulling it? Same concept.

Pushing on the loader frame with more force than it was designed for could tweak the arms.

i just do not bite.

power trac, tractors come to mind. were all implements are on the front, same with skid steer implements.

use of tooth bars and teeth on buckets, to graple buckets, to forks on the FELs. and doing same thing. why would rippers/scarficers. make a difference?

Pushing on the loader frame with more force than it was designed for could tweak the arms.

if that was the thing, i surely would be seeing a lot more FEL twisting threads. and tractors over the years just on this farm let alone all the other farmers around me, would be replacing loader arms all the time.

I like that. I wanted a ripper like that and looked at a LandPride unit. They wanted over $800 for it so I decided I could live without it. I have been thinking of building one. Looking at yours increased my enthusiasem. Nice job
